Criteria for the Talented Athlete Scheme

  • the athlete must be enrolled onto a National Governing Body Talent ID Scheme. They must have a letter from National Governing Body to confirm this
  • must be a Hull resident and must provide proof of address
  • there has to be a commitment to publicity or press calls where appropriate

General Principles for the Talented Athlete Scheme

  • the onus is on the resident to provide evidence that they meet the scheme criteria
  • the agreement is made on an annual basis. The athlete will need to present evidence that they meet the scheme criteria annually to stay on the scheme
  • the National Governing Body must inform the Company if the athlete withdraws from their Talent Programme
  • the Talented Athlete must inform the Company if they withdraw from their Talent Programme, or their circumstances have changed including change of home address
  • no age restrictions will apply
  • no restrictions of eligible sports will apply
  • the free membership can only be used by the talented athlete. It does not permit free access for anyone else
  • access to facilities will be made subject to centre programmes and during public access times. The scheme does not provide exclusive access to facilities
  • the scheme does not cover coaching costs, expenses or any other costs
  • the standard rules that apply to all leisure memberships and use of facilities will apply when awarded a membership under the Talented Athlete Scheme
