Pickering Park Aviary
Following a £500,000 major refurbishment, Pickering Park Aviary is now open.
The aviary is at the heart of Pickering Park. It celebrates the city’s cultural links with our twin city, Freetown in Sierra Leone. The aviary is dedicated to the education and conservation of both African and native biodiversity and natural habitats including our collection of African birds, small mammals such as meerkats and porcupines and reptiles including tortoises.
Pickering Park Aviary is also home to an education area where we deliver curriculum based education packages to schools and groups.
Opening times
Every day 10.30am to 3.45pm
Last admission is 45 minutes before closing.
