About Active Through Football

Active Through Football is a five-year national project funded by the Football Foundation to get more people in local communities getting active. In Hull we focus on 16 to 19 year olds, and the BAME community in three areas of the city:

  • Marfleet
  • Orchard Park
  • Newington and Gypsyville

Our aim is for the sessions to be developed and ultimately delivered by the communities in which they run. In order to achieve this, we have a consortium which oversees the project. Active Through Football Hull is chaired by Hull City Council, managed by Hull Culture and Leisure and the delivery of sessions led by Tigers Trust. In addition, key local partners including the University of Hull and Active Humber sit on our consortium and play a vital role in providing facilities and development support.
